My wife Christine and I have called Wausau home since 1987, and we love Wisconsin. I have lived in the Midwest all of my life, growing up in Decorah, Iowa. After practicing orthodontics for the last 28 + years, I love watching my patients become more confident about themselves, knowing their great new smiles will help to take them wherever they want to go!
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana University, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I then went on to receive my Doctor of Dental Surgery and Masters of Science degrees as well as my Orthodontic Specialist’s Certificate from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa.
My education has given me a broad understanding of the biological sciences important to dentistry and orthodontics. Continuing my education is extremely important to me as new, state-of-the-art procedures, technologies, and systems continually evolve, develop and are refined.
The passion I have for my profession is quite simple: Creating great new smiles for every one of my patients, then seeing how much each patient enjoys his or her new smile, is the most exciting and rewarding part of my profession for me. I also have delighted in getting to know each patient and their families in my practice throughout my career, sharing fun things about ourselves. Choosing to become an orthodontist has been one of the best decisions in my life. I love practicing orthodontics and seeing my patients’ lives and self-confidence improve dramatically with their fantastic new smiles!

OUTSIDE THE OFFICE
My wife Christine and I have two children, Elizabeth and Nicholas. Our daughter, Ellie, is a Speech Pathologist, and was recently married to a Dentist, and lives in Madison, Wisconsin. Our son, Nick, will graduate from the UW-Stevens Point in May, with a degree in Forestry and Soils Conservation. Our other “child” is Hannah, our beautiful black lab!
When I am not doing orthodontics, I love to bike, golf, garden and grill out in warm weather. In those colder Wisconsin months, I curl, downhill ski, sing in the church choir, and create oil paintings. I participate in many various church, community and fund-raising events. My very favorite thing I enjoy in life is spending time with my family.
I always do my best in creating the best smile possible for each one of my patients, and make a point to get to know each of them and their families better during their treatment while sharing this special experience in their lives. Seeing my patients’ happy with their new smiles, makes me smile!
